The Green Bay Packers had an excellent season offensively in 2020. Apparently, Aaron Rodgers couldn’t do any wrong, blazing through the opposition’s defense to earn an MVP award by season end. That saw the offense finish in the top 10 in the total yards per game (fifth), rushing yards per game (eighth), points per game (first), and passing yards per game (ninth).
The good news is that Green Bay is returning almost every player on the offense besides the starting center Corey Linsley and running back Jamaal Williams. However, it will be hard for the Packers to replicate their 2020 success even though most starters will be returning. There will likely be some regression this year and statistically, these three players might be the most affected in the 2021 season. However, this regression should not scare you from using the Unibet Virginia bonus to wager on their games. One of the only online sportsbooks that has a live streaming option.
TE Robert Tonyan
2020 Stats – 11 touchdowns, 52 receptions & 586 yards
In his breakout year, tight end Robert Tonyan tied Travis Kelce by recording the most touchdowns from a tight end but somehow failed to earn a Pro Bowl honor. He was a highly productive player for Green Bay in 2020, recording a career-high in receiving yards and receptions, while being Rodgers’ go-to player in the red zone away from Davante Adams.
Robert will be back with the Packers in 2and if it’s Jordan Love at quarterback instead of Rodgers, that will be almost impossible. In fact, the entire offense will be greatly affected if Rogers is gone.
RB Aaron Jones
2020 Stats – 12 touchdowns, 355 receiving yards, 42 receptions & 1104 rushing yards
Aaron Jones had a great run last year, with his 1104 rushing yards record being the fourth-best in the league despite playing only 14 games. Jones played well enough to force the Packers to pay big cash to keep him in Green Bay and though he took a pay cut, $12 million a year remains pretty high for a running back.
Jones will be losing running mate Jamaal Williams after he was signed by the Detroit Lions this offseason, but AJ Dillon might end up producing more than Williams. Dillon might be due for a breakout in 2021 and he compliments Aaron Jones very well, meaning he might get more snaps compared to Williams. That means Jones might have another solid year as a major weapon for the Packers offense, but there are only so many snaps to go around.
QB Aaron Rodgers
2020 Stats – Five interceptions, 48 touchdowns, 121.5 QB rating & 4,299 yards
Aaron Rodgers recorded a season for all ages last year, taking the MVP award by a landslide. Unfortunately, recording better results than what he did in 2020 would be something never seen in the NFL. However, there are still a few reasons to believe that Rodgers might continue improving, considering that he has done so over the last two seasons with head coach Matt LaFleur. Nonetheless, Aaron Rodgers is bound to regress this year no matter what happens.
