Wide receiver Bo Melton came to Green Bay as a free agent in 2022.

Melton was drafted in the 7th round by the Seahawks last year.

He was on the Packers practice squad all last year and has only played in a handful of games this year.

But on Sunday night, with a national audience watching, Bo Melton shined for the Packers.

Bo Shines

With multiple injuries to the Packers Wide Receivers, Melton was asked to play a bigger role in the Packers offense.

Melton did that and a lot more.

Love targeted Melton often throughout the first couple of possessions.

It wasn’t long though until he was met with adversity.

On a 4th and 1 from inside the red zone, Melton was wide open for what seemingly was a first down to keep the drive going.

He dropped the pass and it led to a turnover on downs for the Packers.

In what could’ve been a turning point in the game the Packers defense only allowed a field goal.

Melton could’ve hung his head on that 4th down play and been non productive the rest of the game.

Instead he came back from it.

Melton went on to catch his first touchdown pass of his career and lead the Packers in yardage.

Bo ended the night with 6 catches for 105 yards.

He became the first Packer this season to have over 100 yards receiving.

Out of Nowhere

What is surprising about this is that out of all the Wide Receivers the Packers have, it was Melton that finally accomplish that goal.

No, it wasn’t Christian Watson, last years second round draft pick.

It wasn’t Romeo Doubs, who is Jordan Love’s favorite target.

And it wasn’t impressive rookies Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks.

Yet again the Packers are showing a next man up mentality with Melton.

Conclusion

After Sunday’s game Melton proved that he is worthy of a spot on the Packers active roster.

On Monday he was signed to the active roster as Samori Toure was placed on IR.

Hopefully Melton will continue his success as he adds to an already young and talented Wide Receiver room.
