Green Bay Packers star CB Jaire Alexander certainly seems to be in better spirits so far in 2024. Alexander had a bizarre season in 2023. Since the offseason began, Alexander has constantly been around the building and participated in all of the meetings and workouts. The Packers hope a rejuvenated and refreshed Jaire will become an awfully dangerous Jaire in 2024.

Jaire Alexander’s past two seasons have been somewhat of a disappointment. In 2022, he dealt with a shoulder injury. In 2023, he dealt with another shoulder injury. Despite practicing quite a bit during the week, Alexander missed nine games because of the injured shoulder. Additionally, he missed one game because of a team imposed suspension.

After the second media OTA practice this week, Alexander expressed his frustration with the previous defensive staff. Jaire did praise the new staff and mentioned how great it has been to work with Hafley and his team. Head Coach Matt LaFleur has praised Jaire Alexander on a few occasions this offseason including yesterday. All signs are pointing to a devoted, enthusiastic Jaire Alexander in 2024.

The Importance of a Devoted Jaire

The Packers are considered to be a Super Bowl contender this upcoming season. Green Bay is certainly a top team in the NFC alongside San Francisco, Detroit, and Philadelphia. In order for the team to reach its fullest potential, the Packers will need its stars to be key contributors. Especially with a new defensive coordinator and scheme, the Packers will have to rely on Alexander to play at an All-Pro level.

Jaire Alexander is entering his 7th season in the NFL. The Packers, similar to 2023, will be one of the younger teams in the NFL. LaFleur must count on his veteran players, like Alexander, to be an example of consistency and lead at a high level. So far, Alexander has answered the bell. As the Packers wind down OTAs and begin preparing for training camp, it will be interesting to see if Alexander’s attentiveness continues.

It is no secret that Alexander can be the NFL’s best corner. He has shown it on multiple occasions. The Packers seem to be awfully encouraged that Alexander is fully bought-in for the 2024 season. Fingers crossed that Jaire can avoid the injury bug because a healthy, devoted, and rejuvenated version of himself will be extremely difficult for opposing offensives to handle.

Warning… all objects in the mirror are closer than they appear. A dangerous Jaire is quickly approaching.
