Josh Jacobs continued to show the Packers that he is one of the top running backs in the NFL against the 49ers.
Jacobs dominated the game on the ground helping the Packers get the victory against the 49ers 38-10.
Without multiple key pieces on both offense and defense, the 49ers simply weren’t able to keep up with the Packers.
They surely weren’t able to stop Josh Jacobs ether.
The Josh Jacobs Express
The heading says it all.
Jacobs was like a train, running over anything in its way.
All game the 49ers struggled to tackle Jacobs.
It seemed like it would take more than one person to tackle Jacobs.
At times it took 3 people to get Jacobs down.
But if you were in the way, chances were your attempt to tackle Jacobs wasn’t successful.
Jacobs constantly was breaking tackles and was a key part of the Packers offense against the 49ers.
There were 20 missed tackles by the 49ers all game.
At the end of the day it was another 100 yard day for Jacobs, who had 106 yard rushing on 26 carries.
A Trifecta of touchdowns for Josh Jacobs
Not only did Jacobs have over 100 yard rushing, he also had a hat trick of touchdowns.
All three touchdowns were from 1 yard out.
The first touchdown came in the second quarter and put the Packers up further 17-0.
The second touchdown came in the third quarter and opened up the score for the Packers in the second half, putting the Packers ahead 24-7.
Jacobs 3rd and final touchdown in the 4th quarter, put any chance of a 49ers comeback away putting the Packers up 31-10.
Stingy 49ers defense
Without Nick Bosa, the 49ers defense struggled to stop the run against the Packers.
Jacobs performance is a very rare occurrence against a 49ers defense that is very good against the run.
But for the first time in over 3 years, the 49ers allowed an 100 yard rusher in the regular season.
The last time the 49ers allowed a 100 yard rusher in the regular season was 2021.
Coincidentally, the first time 49ers allowed a 100 yard rusher in the regular season or playoffs was earlier this year.
In the playoff match-up against the Packers in January, Aaron Jones rushed for over 100 yards.
Conclusion
This is monumental for Josh Jacobs, who has become a force in the Packers offense.
With winter coming soon, Jacobs is lighting up at the right time.
With 838 yards, Jacobs is 3rd in the NFL in rushing.
Look for the Packers to continue to run the football and rely on Jacobs to help the offense.
Especially with the month of December near and the playoffs in sight.
