The Packers look like a team ready for the playoffs as they defeated the Seattle Seahawks Sunday night.
Remember last week when I mentioned that history wasn’t on Green Bay’s side?
Forget about that!
This version of the 2024 Green Bay Packers looks more dangerous than ever.
As the playoffs near, the Packers seem to be heading in the right direction.
The Packers Offense
Over the last few games Green Bay’s offense has put up 30 points or more.
That is a credit to Jordan Love and the Green Bay offense.
Love has settled down after a slow start to the season.
A start that included being out 2 games due to a knee injury.
But when Love came back he wasn’t himself, still struggling to be the mobile Quarterback he was last season.
While it took him a couple of games, Love now looks in control of the offense, making smart decisions.
Meanwhile, Love hasn’t thrown in interception in 4 games, and has thrown 7 touchdowns passes in that span of games.
The offensive success can also be attributed to Josh Jacobs, who as of late, has been on fire.
Jacobs has already rushed for over 1,000 yards and has 12 rushing touchdowns.
Not only that, Jacobs has become a focal point in Green Bay’s offense.
Matt LeFluer has used Jacobs and the run game to set up the passing game, off play-action passes.
And with Wide Receivers like Romeo Doubs, Chirstian Watson, Jayden Reen and Dontayvion Wicks, Love has plenty of “love” to pass around.
Defense
Coming into the season the biggest question was the Packers defense.
This is not the case, 14 games into the 2024 season.
The defense has done it’s part and it seems like the identity of the Packers defense is physicality and attacking the ball.
Already with more turnovers than last year, the defense has bought into Jeff Hafley’s defensive schemes.
The scariest part is that the defense will get better.
Jaire Alexander has been out with a knee injury since last month and is on track to comeback soon, as Green Bay pushes towards the playoffs.
And with rising stars like Edgerrin Cooper, Javon Bullard, and Evan Williams, the Packers defense will get even better with experience.
Cooper had a huge first game back from injury as the first-year linebacker had his first career interception, seven tackles, including two for a loss, and a sack.
Conclusion
The Packers, in all phases of the game, is peaking right now.
We all get it, it’s December and it’s time to find out who the contenders are and the pretenders.
For Green Bay, they are peaking right now at the right time and look more dangerous than ever.
They have proven that they are contenders, as the only losses have come to the top 3 teams in the NFC.
With Green Bay one win away from essentially wrapping up a playoff birth for the second year in a row, the team must learn from their mistakes, if they have any hopes to make it to New Orleans.
