Week 10 brings us the much anticipated NFC Playoff rematch featuring the (6-2)Philadelphia Eagles and the (5-2-1)Green Bay Packers. This Monday Night football battle has been circled since the schedules came out back in May. Two teams that are battling at the top of the NFC and will need this victory if they have any hopes of earning the 1 seed. Today we breakdown the Key Matchups in Philadelphia vs Green Bay.
Packers Running Game vs Eagles Defense
The first of our key matchups in Philadelphia vs Green Bay may be the biggest key to victory vs the Eagles. Can the Packers get Josh Jacobs and their struggling offensive line going this Monday Night? If they are going to get it going at all this season this may be their best chance. The Eagles rank 25th in the NFL in rushing defense allowing 133.3 rushing yards per game. Green Bay is the 16th ranked rushing offense in 2025 with 112.9 yards per game, you can’t get any more middle of the pack than that. If the Packers have any hopes of winning Monday Night it starts with Josh Jacobs and their offensive line.
Packers Pass Rush vs Eagles Offensive Line
Second of our Key matchups in Philadelphia vs Green Bay is the Packers pass rush vs the Eagles offensive line. Last Sunday the Carolina Panthers had a game plan of taking away Micah Parsons, and it worked. It was the least productive gave of Micahs career in terms of rushing the passer. The Panthers and their banged up offensive line dared for the Packers other pass rushers to beat them, and they couldn’t. The defense still played well enough to win the game holding Carolina to 16 points and Bryce young to only 102 yards passing. On Monday the Packers should look at attacking the Eagles guards, as they have allowed 4 sacks and 15 pressures by themselves. As a unit the Eagles have allowed 9 sacks in 2025. Green Bay will need to produce some good pressure and get home vs Jalen Hurts and this Eagles offense.
Packers Rush Defense vs Eagles Running Attack
Last of our key matchups in Philadelphia vs Green Bay is the Packers rush defense vs the Eagles running attack. The Eagles rushing in 2024 was a key component to winning Super Bowl LIX. However in 2025 their rushing offense has somewhat come down to earth. Philadelphia ranks 19th in the NFL at 111.6 rushing yards per game, with a 4.1 per carry average. It looks like Philadelphias Center Cam Jurgens may miss Monday Nights battle, giving the Packers their 2nd straight game vs a banged up offensive line. Unfortunately, Rico Dowdle and the Panthers showed that their key to victory was running right at a Green Bay supposed strength. The Packers need to come prepared vs the Eagles rushing attack, as they may try and duplicate Carolinas game plan. Will the Packers 5th ranked rushing defense come to play in this pivotal matchup? Jeff Hafley needs to have his defense ready to play if they want to avenge their playoff defeat from 2024.
