With a short week and depleted rosters for both the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers going into the opening game of the NFL’s Week 8 slate, no one really knows that is going to happen. It could be a blowout (it probably should with Aaron Rodgers still playing) but the last few matchups between these clubs have been nailbiters, and Kyle Shanahan is still one of the best offensive play-callers in the NFL.

We really have no clue what the outcome will be…so why not put some money on it??

Spread- Green Bay (-7.5) -115

Why Vegas sees the Packers as a more-than-a-touchdown favorite tonight is unclear to me given the recent history between these two teams. There is no doubt that the 49ers have had to deal with a lot of injuries and illness adversity (as have the Packers) and with most personnel unavailable, the coaching staff will have to reach deep down the depth chart for production across all of the teams. However, Kyle Shanahan and Robert Saleh have had MLF and Mike Pettine’s number the last few games and showed in 2018 how dangerous they can still be even without their stars.

My money will be on San Fran to cover, despite injuries and COVID.

Moneyline -Green Bay -370

I feel better taking Green Bay on the money line as I do think they should and will win, but this will be closely contested.

Total O/U 48

Of all the bets on this slate, the one I feel strongest about as my Can’t Lose is taking the OVER here. Regardless of if the Packers get Lazard or Aaron Jones back for tonight, this offense always has the potential to put up 30 points. And if there’s one thing we know about Kyle Shanahan it’s that he’ll get points somehow, whether from schemed up play design or by the Packers missing tackles.

Prop Bets

Nick Mullins- O/U 220.5 passing yards- OVER

Aaron Rodgers- O/U 280.5 passing yards- UNDER
