With the NFL Schedule Release being this Wednesday, May 14th, it got me thinking. What are the games that I’m most excited about heading into this next season? What are the Packers best, most exciting games? Which games will be the ones to look for when Green Bay’s schedule drops on Wednesday? The Packers schedule, regardless of when they play, is going to be a gauntlet. They will be playing against eight playoff teams from last season.
Including the Vikings and Lions, Green Bay will have ten games against playoff teams. The seven other games will be against the Bears (twice), Panthers at home, and Cowboys, Giants, Browns, and Cardinals all away. To make things more interesting, I will not include any NFC North opponents as those are always highly anticipated.
So, these are my top five most anticipated games for the 2025 NFL season for the Green Bay Packers.
Schedule Release – Number 5
Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers

This game has a very real chance of quickly jumping to number one. Matter of fact, the reason I am including the Steelers here is just because Aaron Rodgers going to the Steelers is a real possibility.
Other reasons for the excitement in this matchup – it’s in Pittsburgh and the Steelers fans are kinda crazy. And by kinda, I mean immensely. When Renegade by Styx comes on, watch out. They also have the longest-tenured head coach out of all four North American sports in Mike Tomlin. He always has the Steelers ready to play regardless of who is at quarterback.
Schedule Release – Number 4
Washington Commanders at Green Bay Packers

The Washington Commanders aren’t the same team they used to be. And I’m not just talking about their name. They have new ownership, new leadership, and Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels. Last season, the Commanders proved to be an exciting team to watch. But, questions still remain. Can they continue to be this new-look Commanders team? Or will they fall back to their old ways?
If they play anything like they did last season, watching Jayden Daniels and Jordan Love face off at Lambeau Field could be very fun/stressful to watch.
Schedule Release – Number 3
Cincinnati Bengals at Green Bay Packers

Can I interest anyone in a game that will be “all gas, no brake?”
Last season, the Bengals had the best passing offense in all of football while also being the sixth highest scoring offense. Cincinnati had to score to win because their defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed. This offseason, they chose to pay both of their top receivers in Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins instead of bolstering their defense.
Most teams won’t be able to stop this passing attack, but look for Green Bay to be able to move the ball easily against this Bengals defense. The last one who has the ball could find themselves the winner of this matchup.
Number 2
Baltimore Ravens at Green Bay Packers

Do I really have to say much about this one? The Ravens have consistently found themselves in position to win a Super Bowl every year. They also just so happen to have a two-time MVP at quarterback. Lamar Jackson is absolutely electric and his style of quarterbacking completely helps their run game, which is led by Derrick Henry.
The Packers better have their run defense ready in this one or else to they could find themselves in a world of pain. Coach John Harbaugh is one of the best coaches in all of sports. Watch out for this one.
I can’t wait to watch Lamar Jackson versus Jordan Love in Lambeau Field, hopefully under the lights!
Schedule Release – Just Missing the Cut
Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are always something else. With a healthy Dak Prescott, they can still be a very good team. Brian Schottenheimer is the new head coach of the Dallas Cowboys and will look to try and put the Cowboys back on the map. After having what I believe to be a stellar draft, the Cowboys could be on the rebound.
The Number 1 Most Anticipated Game of 2025
Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers

I mean, the Eagles not only bounced the Packers out of the playoffs last season, but also went on to win the Super Bowl. Could it have been any other? I don’t think so. The Eagles have what is considered to be the best offensive line and defensive line in football. They win in the trenches and that’s what makes them so tough.
That and Saquan Barkley.
Green Bay ended up playing the Eagles twice last season, both times on the road. They played once in Brazil, and the other time in Philly on wild card weekend. Both times were a loss. This time the Packers get them at Lambeau. If the Packers want to win the Super Bowl, they will likely have to go through the Eagles.
The schedule release will happen on Wednesday, May 14th 8PM eastern, 7PM Central!
And as always,
Go Pack Go!
