Packers Weekly breaks down the latest Green Bay Packers win and why the conversation around this team may have just changed. After finally snapping the six-game losing streak, the Packers showed plenty of flaws — but they also revealed some reasons for optimism that could have a major impact on the rest of the season.
The offensive line remains the biggest concern. Injuries have forced Green Bay into a constant game of musical chairs, with questions at tackle and guard and the need to find some stability in front of Jordan Love. Love himself wasn’t at his best against the Jets, but the fact that the Packers still found a way to win despite his struggles, protection problems and an inconsistent running game is significant.
On the other side of the ball, things are looking much more encouraging. Lucas Van Ness delivered a breakout performance, Edgerrin Cooper continues to make plays all over the field, and Dennis Sutton is showing why the Packers’ pass rush could be a major strength — even before Micah Parsons returns.
And then there’s special teams. Skyy Moore provided a huge return, the coverage units made plays, and Green Bay finally looks capable of winning the field-position battle.
